The GX531GW comes in front of you with a little upside down when unboxing the laptop. I thought I had found some hidden treasure. In fact, if the unboxing of all premium items does not fill the premium, then it becomes a cost to create a hype to review.
GX531GW Review
Build Quality
Let's take a look at the figure Emin body of the laptop. At first glance, it looks like a simple gaming laptop, but it has a number of unique features. Weighing in at just 2kg, an i7 and a heavyweight RTX GPU model were unimaginable at the time, but Asus has made it a reality. Asus says the body of the laptop has been given military grade toughness which has been tested by dropping it from 6 cm. The back of the laptop's display has the ROG logo that only glows in red.
On the left side of the GX531GW laptop you will see intake ventilation, then a power port, a USB Type-S and two USB 2.0 ports. On the right side you will find a USB Type C with which you can connect a Type C display port support monitor. One is USB 3.1 gen 2 type A and the other is intake ventilation. With two ventilations on the back you will find a Kensington lock and HDMI port for security.
Keyboard Quality
To maintain slimness, it has been given a high quality chocolate keyboard with four zone RGB lighting. Lighting of this keyboard is supported by Asus Ara Sync software. Although there is a chocolate keyboard, typing is quite comfortable. What distance was good for me. Today I could not write more than 40 words per minute as a nub typist. On the right side of the keyboard is the mouse trackpad. It will be difficult for those who have left elephants but right elephants will be able to adjust. Pressing the button next to the delete button will make the trackpad a numpad. The response and accuracy of the mouse tracker was sufficient.
On the top of the keyboard you will find two two watt smart amp speakers on either side of the ROG logo. You can hear the speaker test in the original video.
Cooling Solution
Let's talk about the cooling solution of the model. To keep the CPU and GPU cool, it has five copper heatpipes, more thin heat sinks used to maintain slimness, the fan has a self-cleaning system that will automatically keep itself clean, and the fans are 12 volt high performance fans. Sitting a foot or more away from the laptop, the full load could hear nothing but the slightest rustling sound.
The most unique part of the cooling design of this series of models is its hinge mechanism. When you bring the display to the top, the hinge at the bottom will open. No one will be afraid to see this open hinge again. This hinge design enables extra hot air to escape from the inside of the laptop.

Display
Each model in the Zephrys GX531 series features a 14.3 Hz IPS level display with a 15.3-inch 100% SRGB gamut-enabled three-millisecond response time. That is, it is capable of exactly the same color reproduction as the IPS display. In some cases it seemed like I was looking at a True Ten Beat panel. Also, it is Pantone Validated for color accuracy.
So for those who are content creators, there is no need to worry about color accuracy. In addition, with Asus's Game Visual Software, you can cycle like the color mode facility. I did not face any difficulty while playing games or editing. I have no complaints about color.
Software Introduction
Before we talk about gaming performance, let me introduce you to some of the pre-installed software included in your model with Armory Crate software. With this software you can monitor your CPU GPU speed, temperature, RAM etc. You can control the fan mode of your choice. In addition, they can control the lighting of your keyboard and other ROG peripherals with Sync.
Gaming Performance
Since it includes RTX 2070 Max Q GPU and 1080p 144Hz display, I don't think it's appropriate to benchmark at 1080p resolution without max settings. So the numbers that you can see are all recorded as much as possible. And the gaming performance is amazing in one word. কম The combo of Core i7 8750H and RTX 2070 Max-Q is really nice.
Thermal Performance
Last but not least, the thermal performance of the GX531GW. Slim and thin laptops always have to compromise on thermal performance. The performance of the uniquely designed cooling system was at a tolerable level. The GPU temperature is below 60 degrees and the CPU temperature fluctuates around 65 to 7 degrees Celsius depending on the power draw. Keep in mind, the room temperature was about 32 degrees Celsius. But despite the high temperature, it was able to maintain its full 4 GHz boost speed for some time without being downclocked. Many times we have seen the CPU downclock at such a temperature, but not so much in this model. Due to the fact that the keyboard of the model is at the bottom, it was not possible to feel the heat in the keyboard even at full load.
Overall Opinion
Now ASUS Zephrys GX531GW is my overall opinion. The models in this series are really very unique. We rarely see such cooling systems and overall designs in models. It’s really hard to imagine so much high end hardware in just 2kg. But Asus has shown it in practice. But the negative side of the slim laptop that I was afraid of was not noticed in this model. The Asus ROG Zephyrus GX531GW laptop could be an option with an overall budget of Rs 2 lakh.
